It is not. You order individual meals at the counter, sit where you would like, and they will bring you your food.
The service was fast and polite, but the menu is limited, and the overall food quality just doesn't measure up to other places. General chicken wasn't spicy at all & tasted more like BBQ sauce. And no fortune cookies in the to-go bag!
Grabbed lunch on the way to the airport. Very fast service.
I'm not sure if this is the best place in Springfield but it's up there. I confidently say they have the best veggie lo mein and egg drop soup. And they give you SO much food. This is my go to place.
I ordered General Tso's chicken, over fried rice, with crab Rangoon. The chicken was lightly tossed in sauce, the perfect amount. But, it was not even remotely spicy, as you would expect General Tso's to be. To me, the sauce would have passed for sweet n sour. It was just sweet, nothing exciting. Also, no veggies. The rice was fine. No peas or bits of pork or anything, just plain brownish rice. The crab Rangoon was the only real let down. They were under filled and boring. There was no onion or crab to be seen or tasted , just cream cheese. The redeeming qualities of Triple Eights are the price and service. I was greeted by a polite woman and served very quickly, and the meal cost about $6.Overall, I would eat here again. It was cheap and good enough.
I truly wouldn’t recommend this place for Springfield Chinese. The food is not great, and the service is abysmal. Probably the worst restaurant service I’ve experienced since living in Springfield. For better Chinese options, check out Yum Yum Bowl, Happy China, Cashew Station, or Pine Garden (which is right next door to Triple Eights)
Try salt and pepper shrimp, it a little hot, but goood
Fast, Friendly, great pricing, and even better food! Has a drive thru for quick call in orders over the phone and it’s a HUGE PLUS that it’s one of the only Chinese Restaurant’s in town that are open late!
I found hair in my food. I told them about it they fixed it gave a food but didn't really taste that good. I wanted a refund tbh. Really could depend on the time of the day sometimes but idk about this place.
I've been eating here since they opened and cannot say a bad thing about the food, owners, or staff. I love their difference in taste, they use spice and aren't afraid of flavor or heat!
Chicken fried rice and egg rolls are good but I just wish they had a large option. I only go here if I'm on this side of town, otherwise I'd recommend rice house.
My favorite place to get Chinese in Springfield, really cheap and really good
Really enjoyed the food here. I was pleasantly surprised.
Chicken is always cold and has a funky taste. Always take 15-30 minutes to have our order ready and we always call ahead.
I love this place. It's so good. I think the best in Springfield.
The shrimp with spicy salt no shell is phenomenal. The food has been freshly prepared every time we've been. The service of good and the restaurant is clean. We highly recommend it.
Triple 8 gets a 5 star if you like your General Chicken a little richer and sweeter. Cashew is the best in town. Clean! Made fresh all white meat top quality.
Just went there last night, food was good however I don't know if someone was sick when they made the food but it made me sick to my stomach so much so I puked up everything I had eaten. A while ago they were really very good, the bear around imo however in the recent couple years or so they've been declining. Now they're no better than your average, generic Chinese food restaurant. I'm not sure what changed with them, but the food changed and then the quality went down. Sadly, I miss getting orange chicken there, it was different than everywhere in town but now it's just the same and others do it better.
Average cashew chicken. Egg drop soup is pretty good and the spicy chicken is pretty good. Not open on Mondays.
Eggs rolls are awesome despite the wait, friendly staff, efficient drive through! Traditional food available.
Food is good but the service not so much
When looking for a Chinese spot that tickles my fancy, I’m fairly picky. I don’t like scabby, grisly chicken man. This spot is pretty decent dude. You don’t get a ton of rice, but the amount of chicken makes up for it. It’s always hot and fresh. You gotta wait 5 minutes if you want an egg roll though. Every. Single. Time. Be prepared for that.
The food tastes like it had been reheated. Very chewy.
My son and I were thirsty after walking at Nathaniel Greene park tonight. We drove up and ordered two Cokes. When I got to the window I handed my debit card to an older woman who appeared to be the owner. After taking the card, she asked me if I wanted lots of ice in my drinks. I said no, 1/3 ice please. She seemed displeased with that, and then said it only came to $3, so she wouldn't take my card. I told her we didn't have any cash, but she said "no" and gave me my card back. She refused to sell us any drinks. I was so shocked! There are no signs stating a minimum order. We won't be going back again.
Quiet good food
I ate here three years ago and it was disguisting thought i'd give it another chance but its worse than the first time. The chicken wasnt fully coated in sauce, iተ wasnt hot, the rice was dry and it all just tasted nasty. The bourbon chicken might as well have been onions and mushrooms with a bite of chicken which is nothing like the bourbon chicken ive ate in the past. Very disappointed upset that i basically threw away 50 dollars on something my kids even said wasnt good at all.
Everyone enjoyed their meal with the exception of the General Chicken order. Paid for all white meat but it was horribly dry and the breading wasn't good at all. Overall the rest of our food was decent with good flavor.
Brutal. Placed an order. Paid. Got my food and it was wrong. When I told them the lady said "we already made it so.." I had already paid so I ate it. Rice was dry in the shape of a ice cream scoop. White meat? Lol, nope. I never wrote reviews but this was horrible!
Delicious and very friendly staff
Phenomenal service, AMAZING FOOD, AMAZING ATMOSPHERE. First time being here and I am truly impressed. Got my food so quickly! The front cashier was extremely friendly and knowledgeable! Would definitely come back very soon!
Great food and super friendly. Only down part is when you order through the drive through pretty long a wait. Definitely call a head and go inside and pick it up.
This is my favorite Chinese food in Springfield. I've tried almost everything on the regular menu. I like the Bourbon Steak the best.
Wow has this restaurant been scamming customers. Ordered dinner from here and had 3 regular orders and 2 full orders which are supposed to be large. The large comes in a different container so I asked which one is supposed to be the bigger order and the girl at the counter told me the large is in red and white container because there is more meat. Well I went home and tested this on all the meals I ordered. In the pictures the meal on the left is the regular order and the meal on the right is the large order in the different container. Well I put the large order in the same container as the regular order and look and see which has more food. Neither! Because they are the same amount of food. They have been charging $2+ more for "large" orders when it's the same amount of food as a regular order. I will never eat here again.
This place has such yummy food!!!!! Staff is always so kind and fast. Love it
Never eaten here or from here but I do Postmates orders and get quiet a bit from here. So I'm assuming it's really good food.
Have always been one of my favorite places to eat! And it doesn't add MSG to their food! Great calamari!
Garlic beef not spicy chewy beef and all the sauces taste of the same gross sugar syrup fried rice was steamed rice with soy sauce mixed inn
Food is pretty good. The general chicken is NOT spicy, don't let the pepper on the board fool you. The prices are a little high for the portion sizes. Overall, just kinda ok, all things considered. Staff is great, speed is great, place is clean. Big detractor being the small portions for the cost.
Hours are Tu-Su 1100 - 2130 Closed MonLove their Chinese menu, it's more expensive than the American menu but it is far better. The American stuff is your typical batter fried and noodles junk that I don't care for, it is cheap here though. Try the spicy chicken off the Chinese menu it is delicious.
They have regular Americanized Chinese food but they also have real authentic Chinese dishes on separate menus. I had the Hot Beef Noodles!
Really good cashew chicken. Nice dining area. Friendly staff. Definitely going to visit again.
They have the best shrimp lo mein. I don’t know what they do to their sauce but it’s so good 🤤
Never had anything bad from here. Lo main & fried rice are on point!
Not my favorite but the family loves it. I think it is bland, but that is what they prefer so we eat here every time we are in Springfield. I keep trying things other than the breaded chicken variations. Maybe I'll hit on something to upgrade my rating ;)
The best soup around town !
Garbage. Got the orange chicken and they gave me some fried twice old chicken. It was soggy with grease and the breading was falling off didn’t taste or look or smell fresh or good at all. How hard is it to fry chicken for a couple minutes to keep the quality good, will never return. Advise you don’t go.
They have great food and even better deals. Their combos are huge and always come out very hot. The food has never disappointed here. I would ignore any reviews about bad service, as I'm pretty sure these are all directed at a single server.
Garlic chicken was recommended and was really watery. My crab raggons were soaked in the sauce. They do not give you sweet and sour sauce for the ragoons either.
Disgusting worst Chinese food I've ever eaten
If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Where do we begin... I ordered beef and broccoli, and sweet and sour shrimp. Btw door dash is trash & I rather pick the food up myself. There’s no reason that the entire sauce from my food should spill in the bag. Anyways, there was hair in the sweet and sour shrimp, the beef was super dry. Portion sizes for the price is stupid. I should at least get a large rice for a full size meal. I’m being real with y’all.. do not buy from this place it’s TRASH.
There's this thing about Springfield not having good chinese food and this restaurant helps me prove it. The food was so terribly bland. Sweet and sour sauce was so thin and soup like. The fried rice was soaking wet of what tasted line soy sauce. The general tso chicken had no heat to it at all. And the crabrangoon was so flavor less
